High Street Kew Operations Pty Ltd (ABN 31 662 209 378) (“The Clifton Hotel”) is a privately-owned hospitality venue located in Victoria. The Clifton Hotel is committed to providing high-quality experiences to its patrons and clients while protecting their personal information. We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your personal information. What Is Personal Information and Why Do We Collect It? 

Personal information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. This includes your name, title, gender, address, email address, payment details and phone number.

We collect your personal information in a number of ways, including:

We collect your personal information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you and for marketing purposes. We may also use your personal information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.

Marketing 

Where applicable, The Clifton Hotel will use your personal information to contact you via mail, SMS, email, telephone or online to tell you about promotions, offers, news and services that may interest you. This may include marketing communications for sister venues operated within the same portfolio. We will only do this where you have consented (opted-in) to receiving such information. You can update your marketing preferences or opt out at any time via the unsubscribe instructions included in our communications.

Video Surveillance 

Providing a safe environment for our patrons is a priority; therefore, the venue is under 24-hour video surveillance. We are required under liquor-licence laws to have CCTV installed and to retain footage for thirty days (or longer where needed for investigation). All patrons’ movements upon entering the venue may be monitored by security systems, including CCTV and body-worn video (which captures audio). By entering the venue, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Third Parties 

Where reasonable and practicable, we will collect personal information only from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with personal information by third parties. In such cases, we will take reasonable steps to ensure you are made aware of the information provided to us.

Please note that our venue offers Wi-Fi services provided by a third-party, Aussie Broadband. Collection of your personal information when accessing the Wi-Fi is governed by Aussie Broadband’s Privacy Policy (https://www.aussiebroadband.com.au/legal/privacy-policy/).

To comply with the Liquor Act 2007 (NSW), patrons may be required to scan identification at entry points using devices provided by third parties. Personal information collected during this process may include your name, gender, photo, date of birth and the type of identification card used. We may access this information where required (e.g. if you are subject to a banning order).

Disclosure of Personal Information 

Your personal information may be disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • To third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure

  • Where required or authorised by law

Security of Personal Information 

Your personal information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. The Clifton Hotel operates within secure data networks protected by firewall and password-protection systems.

Access to Your Personal Information 

You may access the personal information we hold about you to update or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. Requests must be made in writing. We will not charge a fee for access requests but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your information. For security, we may require identification before releasing the information.

If you find the personal information we hold is inaccurate, please notify us as soon as practicable so we can update our records.
